Юрий И. Манин, рождённый в 1937 году с Симферополе17, был большим советским математиком, автором несколько сотен научных работ26 и научным руководителем больше чем пол сотни кандидатских диссертации43. Среди многих математических результатов, отмечается его глубокий интерес к теоретической физике.4, 7–9, 12, 22, 24 В том числе, стал он первым учёным, который (в 1980 году) предложил идею квантового компютера.6 Юрий был сильно связан с духовной культурой советских шестидесятников.19 Был другом братьев Аркадия и Бориса Cтругацких и Володи Высоцкого.16 В 1970 году выступил с защитой фильма «Андрей Рублёв» Андрея Тарковского.41 В 70-х и 80-х годах был связан с представителями и идеями тартуско-московской семиотической школы.3, 10, 11, 19 Стал первообразом одного из главных персонажей «За миллиард лет до конца света» братьев Cтругацких (экранизированного Александром Сокуровым как «Дни затмения»).42 Умер 7 января 2023 года. |
Yuriĭ I. Manin, born in 1937 in Simferopol17, was a big Soviet mathematician, the author of several hundred scientific papers26, and the supervisor of more than half a hundred of PhD theses43. Among his many mathematical results, one can note his deep interest in theoretical physics.4, 7–9, 12, 22, 24 In particular, he was the first scientist to propose the idea of the quantum computer (in 1980).6 Yuriĭ was strongly connected with the spiritual culture of the Soviet Sixtiers.19 He was a friend of the brothers Arkadiĭ and Boris Strugatskiĭ and of Volodiya Vysotskiĭ.16 In 1970 he stood in defence of Andreĭ Tarkovskiĭ's film «Andreĭ Rublëv».41 In the 1970s and 1980s he was associated with representatives and ideas of the Tartu–Moscow semiotic school.3, 10, 11, 19 He became the prototype of one of the main characters in «A billion years before the end of the world» by the Strugatskiĭ brothers (filmed by Alexander Sokurov as «Days of eclipse»).42 He died on 7 January 2023. |
