„Global dynamics and strangeness production in heavy-ion collisions at 1-2 AGeV with FOPI.”

prelegent: dr Krzysztof Piasecki (IFD UW)

Streszczenie: FOPI is the large acceptance spectrometer aimed at precision measurements of heavy-ion collisions at SIS energies at GSI, Darmstadt. Data collected at beam energies of 1-2 AGeV allow to reconstruct the global aspects of these collisions like elongations of rapidity spectra, and collective v1 and v2 flows. These results point to partial transparency, which hints the modifications of properties of particles in hot and dense collision zone. Measurements of strange particles confirm the in-medium modifications in several ways, and help constrain the values of kaon-nucleon potential. Recently installed precision ToF detector based on RPC technology, allows to enlarge the phase space coverage of measured strange particles.
