Quarks and leptons
Determine how the Z particle decays. Start by dividing the events into the two main categories
Determine the proportion of lepton and quark events.
Lepton events can be identified as
- electron events: two tracks ending in the EMCal.
- muon events: two tracks ending in the MuDet.
- tau events: 2, 4 or 6 charged tracks.
Quark events are identified as two or more sprays of particles, practically always exceeding ten tracks.
