Three-body
phenomena, like two-proton radioactivity, are described theoretically
in the Jacobi coordinates. In the case of the 2p emission, the complete
correlation picture is depends on two parameters. The interactive
manipulation illustrates how the values of these two Jacobi parameters
translate to the laboratory system. Two tabs allow to chose one of the
two Jacobi systems used: T or Y. The image on the left shows
definitions
for the chosen Jacobi system. The coordinates in the Jacobi system are
selected in the middle panel by a Locator movable by the mouse. The
graph on the right illustrates the momenta of both protons in the lab
system. Lengths of the lines are proportional to the momentum values.
The momentum of the recoiling daughter is not shown. The distribution
shown in the middle represents the predicted correlations for the case
of 45Fe calculated in the three-body model by L. Grigorenko et al.
