X 2021 - The project has started! First samples of antiferromagnetic semiconductor MnSe have been grown in Molecular Epitaxy Lab at University of Warsaw, Faculty of Physics.
XII 2021 - Pt source was installed in our MBE system.
I 2021 - We introduced a growth of MnSe on (111) crystalline direction to study magnetically uncompensated surfaces. Observed RHEED patterns and AFM pictures are very promising.
III 2022 - The article about discriminating between the magnetic and thermal contributions into the electrical signals in switching experiments with CoO and Pt has been published in Applied Physics Letters. https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0090484
III 2022 - Growth of the first CdSe quantum wells with MnSe as an antiferromagnetic barrier! They can exhibit strong photoluminescence signal at criogenic temperatures.
VI 2022 - Partial results of the project were demonstrated during 50th International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors "Jaszowiec 2022", Szczyrk, Poland.
VII 2022 - Partial results of the project were demonstrated during 2022 Joint European Magnetic Symposia (JEMS), Warszawa, Poland.
VIII 2022 - We have a detailed study of structure quality of MnSe thanks to the XRD measurements.
IX 2022 - Partial results of the project were demonstrated during Trends in Magnetism 2022 Conference, Venice, Italy.
IX 2022 - Popular Science lecture concerning antiferromagnets and laboratory excursion has been organized as a part of 26. Festival of Science at our Faculty.
IX 2022 - First optical studies in magnetic fields were performed on our quantum wells with antiferromagnetic barriers.
X 2022 - Electrical experiments on bulk MnTe bringing surprising results as well as electrical study of our Pt thin films.
II 2023 - A study about the "hysteresis above the spin-flop field" that we observe in electrical experiments has been published in Physical Review B. https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevB.107.L060403
III 2023 - First quantum wells with anitferromagnetic MnTe as a barrier has been grown.
VI 2023 - Projects results related to MnTe and MnSe studies were presented at 50th International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors "Jaszowiec 2023", Szczyrk, Poland conference.
VII 2023 - A collaboration with Cornell University has been established to image antiferromagnetic domains!
IX 2023 - Magnetotransport studies on thin film MnTe and MnSe capped with Pt has been launched.
