Isointensity plot of spectrally and temporally resolved photoluminescence of
an InAs/GaAs structur with quantum dots measured with a streak-camera, at T = 10 K:
- - Vertical axis: time in picoseconds.
- - Horizontal axis: energy in electron-volts.
- - Colors scale is proportional to the logarithm of the PL intensity.
The image is presented in logarithmic scale in order to show weak features.
Some physical observations:
- The quantum dots band is visible between 1.33 eV and 1.48 eV. The high-energy wing of this band is due to
excited states and it decays very fast. The low-energy wing (the ground states) has long lifetime (about 300 ps).
- GaAs free-electron to carbon acceptor transition is at 1.49 eV,
- Sharp excitonic lines of the GaAs barrier are at 1.51 eV,
