We show that no device built according to the rules of quantum field theory can measure proper time along its path. Highly accelerated quantum clocksexperience the Unruh effect, which inevitably influences their time rate. This contradicts the concept of an ideal clock, whose rate should only depend on the instantaneous velocity.

Laser-induced plasmas have found numerous applications. Laser Thomson scattering can be applied to investigate laser-induced plasmas originating from breakdown or ablation of solid samples. This method provides a reliable and direct mean of determinplasma electron density and electron temperature with high spatial and temporal resolution.

In the talk I would like to present realization of four wave mixing process in various environments. In 1999 we predicted and observed for the first time four wave mixing in Bose Einstein condensate medium, with cold atoms rather than photons. Soon after the whole field of matter wave optics emerged. Since then we realized that this phenomenon can occur in many various situations: in spinor condensates, in the presence of linear and nonlinear lattice, in optical systems with gain and losses and many others. I will review some of different scenarios and discuss phase matching conditions in “exotic” circumstances, focusing on the latest study of four wave mixing in pt symmetric coupler.
