The laboratory was established in 2010 by Dr. Tomasz Słupiński and Dr. Wojciech Pacuski as part of the Center for Preclinical Research and Technology (CePT) at the Solid State Physics Division, Institute of Experimental Physics, Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw. Since 2014, the laboratory has been housed in Cent I building (room 1.222). Now, Wojciech Pacuski serves as the head of the laboratory, Tomasz Słupiński works in MBE lab in IFPAN .
Among our achievements is a recipe for growth of high optical quality TMD monolayers using hBN substrate [51,58,69], the first epitaxial growth of topological semimetals TaAs [65,74] and NiTe2 [57], the first observation of a QD with a single Co ion [16,35] and with a single Fe ion [26,32], and farbication of semimagnetic microcavites with amazing magnetooptical properties [7,15,20,27,34,37,39,43,53,55,56,62,64,67,71,73].
