Welcome to the webpage of the project "Photonic Implementations of Quantum-Enhanced Technologies" opearated under TEAM programme. The purpose of the project is to exploit the potential of quantum phenomena such as coherence and entanglement in information and communication technologies. This will provide new, quantum-enhanced protocols for information storage, communication, sensing, and beyond.

The project started at January 1, 2010 and will last till March 31, 2014.

"Photonic Implementations of Quantum-Enhanced Technologies" is realized within the Foundation for Polish Science TEAM Programme co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Paper on the optimality of quantum enhancement in the GEO600 gravitational wave detector published
It is theoretically demonstrated that the recently reported quantum-noise-limited sensitivity of the squeezed-light-enhanced German-British gravitational wave detector GEO 600 is exceedingly close to the fundamental theoretical bound, given the present amount of optical loss. Furthermore, it is proven that the employed combination of a bright coherent state and a squeezed vacuum state is generally the optimum practical approach for phase estimation with high precision on absolute scales.
